She is every woman navigating her hormones, her health, and her hope for clarity. We built Hiya because women's health has too often been misunderstood, measured against models that never reflected her biology or her reality.
What began as a shared frustration between two women became a healthcare movement, combining clinical science, cultural understanding, and digital access to make care truly hers.
Hiya is more than a name.

We, Sally Maddah and Iman Chehade, are Middle Eastern women who grew up in cultures where conversations about women’s health were often private, sensitive, or simply avoided. Like many, neither of us saw a gynecologist until our mid-twenties.
Both of us spent years managing symptoms that were dismissed or overlooked. Iman lived with endometriosis and hormonal imbalances that went unexplored for years. Sally experienced irregular and extremely painful cycles that followed the same pattern — quick assumptions, scattered advice, and delayed testing. It took almost a year of completely losing her menstrual cycle before she finally learned how to rebalance it on her own.
Our journeys revealed the same truth: women’s health is often delayed, brushed off, or misunderstood. We experienced this across two worlds — where cultural discomfort meets systemic neglect.
Hiya was born from a desire to build what we couldn’t find: a medically credible, culturally aware space where women like us can understand their hormones early, privately, and with confidence, no matter where they are.
Master's in Pharmaceutical Design and Engineering
Iman Chehade brings a multidisciplinary background in diagnostics, product development, and women’s health innovation. She holds a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Design and Engineering from DTU Denmark and has worked across the US, Switzerland, and Denmark at the intersection of laboratory operations and user experience.
Master's in Organic Chemistry and Advanced Synthesis
Sally Maddah is an operations and product development leader with a strong scientific background in chemistry, diagnostics R&D, and manufacturing scale-up. She holds a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry and Advanced Synthesis from the University of Bern, Switzerland, and spent five years in the Swiss biotech and diagnostics sector leading teams across R&D, operations, and quality.
MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Gael Abou Ghannam is an obstetrician-gynecologist and fertility specialist with a strong track record in clinical care, academic teaching, and women’s health education. She completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility in Belgium and has worked across diverse clinical settings, bringing scientific rigor and cultural sensitivity to patient care.
